Born in Bangalore, Karnataka, in 1986, Saumyananda Sahi was the youngest participant in the Talent Campus India (2004), and the Berlinale Talent Campus at the Berlin International Film Festival (2005).

Over the last ten years Saumyananda has directed many short films, and worked as a cinematographer with eminent directors including Anne Aghion, Kamal Swaroop, Deepa Dhanraj, Gitanjali Rao, Bani Abidi, Sunanda Bhat and Vasant Nath.

Saumyananda graduated from St. Stephens College, Delhi, with a distinction in Philosophy, and studied Film Cinematography in the Film and Television Institute of India, Pune. He founded Skreen Films with his partner, Tanushree Das. He is currently based in Mumbai, India.

WORK EXPERIENCE:

June-July 2005 – worked for Bharath Bala Productions (Mumbai), as an assistant director

2006-2007 – worked on the script-development of a trilogy of feature films (‘Greed’) with Vishal K Dar

May-December 2009 – worked in the Delhi Art Gallery as a consultant and archivist, under the guidance of Pramod Kumar K.G., for a collection of 80,000 negatives (approx) taken by Nemai Ghosh. A majority of these were images of Satyajit Ray

Born in Barrackpore, Kolkata on the 28th of August 1980, Tanushree Das graduated from the University of Calcutta with a Masters in English Literature.
Following her interest in theater, Tanushree directed two plays for Theatrecian in Kolkata, including ‘Zoo Story’ which premiered to critical acclaim in 2003, and continues to be performed in cities around India to this day.

In 2011 Tanushree graduated from the Film and Television Institute of India (Pune) with a Diploma in Film Editing, and has since edited for acclaimed directors such as Kamal Swaroop, Gitanjali Rao, Sunanda Bhat and Vasant Nath.

Tanushree founded Skreen Films with her partner, Saumyananda Sahi, and works to produce and promote documentaries and short films.

Presently based in Mumbai, Tanushree works as an editor, producer and gaffer under the banner of Skreen Films and also as a free-lance technician. She is currently working on her debut feature film as a writer and director.
